with their child. If you’re a parent, stay with me, because these three mental health tips
can help your child feel safer, closer, and more understood. Tip one: Listen
to understand, not to fix. When your child talks about a problem, resist the urge
to immediately give advice or solutions. Sometimes children don’t need answers they need to feel
heard. Simply listening shows them that their thoughts and feelings matter.
Tip two: Name feelings instead of judging them. Instead of saying things like “You’re
overreacting,” try saying, “I can see that you’re upset.” This helps children understand
