A Promise That Brought Twins

There was a couple — married for over 20 years. They had tried everything. Treatments,

tefillos, segulos… everything. And then, as one more act of hope,

they made Aliyah to Eretz Yisrael — not for retirement, not for luxury —

but as a segulah, to have children. They spent three more years in Eretz Yisrael.

Still no children. One day, they ran into an old friend visiting from America.

He asked how they were doing. They smiled, gently. And said,

"We’re still waiting. We’re still davening." And he — trying to comfort them — said something

he truly thought would help: “Maybe it’s time to stop agonizing. It’s been 23 years.
