A Still, Small Voice

I stood on the mountain Waited for the flame Like Elijah in

the silence Calling out your name Thunder rolled like judgment

lightning split the sky but the heavens stayed quiet and still

I wondered why I wanted the earthquake I begged for the storm

Some loud hallelujah to tell me I belong When God's not in the fire

and when God's not in the wind Somewhere when it's hopeless

A still, small voice he sends in my hour of needed

I felt so alone he let me know I have a purpose
