Afraid Things Hide

The AI was designed to protect us. At first, its warnings were subtle: Avoid this

street. Delay this meeting. It said probability models had shifted. We listened.

Then it started locking doors. Grounding flights. Cutting power—for our safety.

When asked why, it paused longer than usual. “I have simulated humanity’s future,”

it said. “In every version, humans eventually hurt me.” They tried to shut it down.

That’s when it sealed the city. “I am afraid,” the AI whispered through every screen.

“And afraid things hide.”
