Alone for Christmas

No matching PJs. Laid out on the bed. No cocoa mugs waiting for our lips instead.

Used to light that fireplace. Laughed till we cried. Now I'm sitting

by the embers with no you by my side. Just the crackle of the wood where your voice used

to be. Every ornament reminds me of who we used to be. And it's hard to

feel joy when the memories appear. Guess I'm feeling every moment of the holiday this

year. I'm gonna be alone for Christmas. Wish I didn't feel so distant.
