Amaterasu: The Light That Chases Darkness

AMATERASU — The Japanese Sun Goddess --- Long ago in the heavens of Japan

lived Amaterasu, the radiant Sun Goddess. Her light warmed the world and brought

life to every corner of the land. But her brother Susanoo, the storm god,

caused chaos wherever he went. When his wild actions hurt her feelings, Amaterasu hid inside

a dark cave, and the whole world fell into shadow. The gods panicked—flowers wilted,

rivers cooled, and people lost hope. So the gods danced and celebrated outside

the cave until Amaterasu became curious. When she peeked out, the world shone

bright again—reminding everyone that even the smallest light can chase away darkness. ---
