Andy Summers was asked about Eddie Van Halen and Yngwie Malmsteen, two guitarists who

became famous around the same time. Summers was very clear about his feelings.

When asked if he was a fan of them when they first came out, he said:

“Not Malmsteen, no. Eddie was a genius. Eddie Van Halen, I thought was very
