Animal Farm: A Critique of Totalitarianism

In the Animal Farm book, the pigs take charge of the revolution but after becoming

the rulers. They think the pigs are always right no matter the situation. Even after they

alter the rules to their favor they are defended because They are the rulers. Orwell wanted to

reach out to others about the unfairness of Stalin’s rule. Napoleon represents Stalin in the book

because he becomes a dictator instead of a ruler. Snowball is used by Napoleon as someone

to blame for all the bad things on the farm just like Stalin used Trotsky. The other animals

are living on rations even though they do all the work with represents the corruption in
