The NSA built a database specifically to handle petabytes of classified secrets. It is called Apache
Accumulo and it started as a spy project named Cloudbase before going open source.
Think of it like Google BigTable but with military-grade security features. The storage model
is a massive sorted map of key-value pairs, but the real magic is the cell-level
visibility. You can literally tag every single tiny piece of data with specific security
labels so only people with the right clearance can see it. If you need to hide a needle in a digital
haystack, this is exactly how the pros do it.
