Art as a Time Machine

Art is literally the only working time machine we have. Seriously,

forty thousand years ago, people weren't painting caves because they were bored; they

were trying to hack reality and survive against predators. It was straight-up magic.

Then you have the Egyptians building massive pyramids just to cheat death, and the Chinese

burying an entire army of clay soldiers just to flex in the afterlife. It has never been

just about making things look pretty. It is about power, fear, and immortality.

Every sculpture and painting is just someone from the past screaming I was here.
