Awake on the Autopsy Table

A surgeon woke during his own autopsy. His eyes snapped open as the coroner's scalpel traced his

chest. He tried to scream but his vocal cords were already removed, sitting in a metal

tray beside him. The coroner didn't stop cutting. She never did. Every night,

she practiced on the living, perfecting her technique. The paralytic she injected wore off

too soon again. She sighed, grabbed a larger dose, and continued harvesting

his organs while he watched, fully conscious, unable to move.
