Listen closely. Chemistry is like Gotham. One wrong move, and everything explodes.
Today, we master Aldol Condensation. Take Ethanal. Dilute NaOH is
our catalyst. Two molecules react because they have alpha-hydrogens. They form 3-hydroxybutanal.
Heat it up. Water leaves. You get But-2-enal. Simple. Lethal.
Effective chemistry for a dangerous world. Cross Aldol is a different beast. Different aldehydes.
Benzaldehyde meets Ethanal. No alpha-hydrogen in Benzaldehyde, so Ethanal attacks. They form Cinnamaldehyde.
In Gotham, we call this precision. Study hard. Gotham needs minds,
not just muscle. Case closed.
