Before the Gods Were Born

Before the names of hill and stream. Before the fire, before the dream.

When land was ash and sea was bone. And darkness ruled the world alone.

From western waves and poisoned foam. They rose where no man

dared to roam. One eye burning, one arm of stone. Twisted crowns of

flesh and bone. Kings of storm and blighted ground. Their footsteps split

the earth around. They took no oath, they bowed to none.

The sun itself was yet undone. We are the night before the

flame. The broken word, the whispered name. Before your gods, before your law.
