Beware of Fake QR Codes

You think QR codes are just convenient shortcuts to the menu? Think again.

You wouldn't believe what happened at our office. Someone put up posters in the parking lot.

Professional-looking, with our company logo. "Scan here to get your new employee

badge." A dozen people scanned it. The page asked for their login details

to "verify their identity." It was fake. All of it. Someone had printed

a poster, stuck it in our parking lot, and collected passwords. Here's what I do

now: I only scan QR codes when they make sense in my work. And when I do,

I check the link to make sure it is familiar. That's how you get more secure,
