The asphalt cracked and swallowed the light. Gravel in the dust lead into

the night. Moon's just a sliver and it's hidin' his face. Devil's in my

eyes as I walk that way. Sweat on my brow as I creep through the

pines. The only ones to see what I did tonight. A brand-new shovel

and a bottle of rye. Blood on my hands as I cross that line.

The cottonwood sighs and it's all in pain. The river runs cold with the
