Blood and Shadows

By day, I read the language of blood. By night,

I write my own story in it. How to get away with murder,

silence in the waves. Justice for the wicked, no names,

no graves. In the daylight, I'm a scientist, a model, a brother.

But the moonlight shows me something darker than the others. Lab coat pressed

in the Miami heat. Footprints vanish when they cross my street.

Every droplet a diary, spatter a line. The scene tells secrets that were

never meant to shine. Colleagues see a smile, a harmless friend.
