Borrowed Time, Unending Love

She knew her heart wouldn’t last long. A disease the doctors couldn’t cure. Still… she chose

to become a mother. They asked her why. She smiled and said, “Because even a short love is still

love.” She named her daughter Mika. Every night, she whispered love

into borrowed time. Letters Mika was too young to read. A voice she recorded, just in case.

And then… her heart stopped. Years later, Mika grew up wondering how much her mother

truly loved her. In a café where time stood still, she met her mother once more.

“Why did you choose me,” Mika asked, “knowing you wouldn’t stay?” Her mother held

her hands and said, “Because I wanted you to exist.” The coffee grew cold.
