Clocked in, Checked out

I see the messages I never reply. Screens full of laughter while I

watch time fly. Work boots on the baby's cries. I miss the nights we just

stay up till sunrise. I doubt myself when I feel this strain.

Wonder if I'll ever get some time to reclaim. All these bills, all these plans,

Life's a tight rope on shifting sands. I crave the freedom I used

to know. Controllers in hand letting my worries go. But I bite

my tongue, I stay in line, wait for the right moment,

bide my time. I don't have enough hours for friends. Life keeps pulling
