Breaking Hierarchy to Save a Life

I watched my attending override my correct diagnosis and the patient almost died on the table.

I'm a second year resident, I called sepsis, pushed for blood cultures,

begged for aggressive fluids. He dismissed me in front of the entire team,

said I was being dramatic, that it was just a simple post op infection.
