Building My Emergency Fund

Surprisingly, my biggest money lesson came from a hospital bill. So last month I

woke up with blinding toothache and I had to get an emergency root canal, and this took up

almost half my salary. To ensure this never happens again, I decided I need to finally make

that emergency fund that I was avoiding. Um, here's how I plan to do it.

I decided to keep, uh, six months of my expenses, roughly 1.5 to two

lakhs aside. Uh, I aimed to keep 50,000 in a high-interest bank and one-- one

lakh to 1.5 lakhs in a liquid mutual fund. So now every salary day,

10,000 rupees auto-debits from my account and goes into this emergency fund, ensuring that,
