Which is impressive, because more people are now living like it’s a survival game.

Let’s do some very basic math. In 1975, Canadians spent about:

25 to 30% of income on housing 35 to 40% on necessities That left a solid 30% or more for

savings, emergencies, and things like not panicking. Good times.

Now let’s try today. Housing now costs 40 to 50% of income for many people. Add in necessities,

and suddenly 80% or more of income is already gone. Which means discretionary income is now somewhere
