Cars That Change Shape: Active Aero

But here's where things get really wild. The single biggest change to the car

is the introduction of active aerodynamics. For the very first time, we're going to see

cars that can literally change their shape on the track lap after lap, using movable wings

on both the front and the rear. So, drivers are gonna have two modes to

play with. When they're heading into a corner, they'll be in Z-mode. That's maximum downforce,

maximum grip. But then, once they hit the straights, they'll switch over

to X-mode, which flattens the wings out, slashes the drag, and just lets the

car fly to achieve some incredible top speeds.
