Caught Between the Lines

Silence louder than the truth lately. Two shadows in my mirror, both feel real,

just in different ways. One feel like escape, no weight on

my chest. No questions, no promises, nothing to fix. We laugh like

we're strangers, don't talk about pain. She don't ask where I'm headed,

just hop in my lane. The other know my rhythms, my moods,

my flaws. See me when I'm broken, see me when I'm lost.

But something been missing, I can't explain. We holding a picture

but losing a frame. I been staring at the ceiling way too long.
