CERBERUS — THE HOUND AT THE THRESHOLD In the deepest chambers beneath the earth, where no sunbeam

dared trespass and the air itself seemed carved from shadow, there lay a gate older than mortal

memory. Its pillars were bones of giants, its arch etched with the names of

kings and beggars alike — for death welcomed all without distinction. And before this

gate, upon a bed of blackened stone, slept Cerberus, the Hound of Hades.
