Chaser Without the Whiskey

I've been looking for something to take the edge off. But everything I

reach for just makes it worse. Another temporary fix that doesn't stick. I guess some

things were never meant to work. I'm the chaser without the whiskey. The remedy that

never comes. Going through the motions of forgetting. But the hurting's never done.

I keep searching for the comfort in all the wrong places I go.

I'm the chaser without the whiskey. And I think it's starting to show.

I used to believe that time would do its part. But these scars

just settle deeper in my bones. I'm learning how to carry what won't heal.
