Choosing Each Other Every Day

Leo sat by the window watching rain blur the streetlights into stars. Maya joined him,

their shoulders touching in the dim light. He finally spoke about the lease,

about his parents asking when they'd find a real place. She admitted she was scared,

that signing a lease felt final, like choosing this life permanently. But Leo took her

hand and said he couldn't imagine not coming home to her, that her plant obsession

made their tiny apartment feel like home. Maya smiled, said she loved his

awful shower singing and how he always knew when she needed a hug instead of advice.

They decided to check out the place near the park tomorrow. Sometimes love isn't about grand gestures.
