Chrysalis Awakening

] The chrysalis is quiet. My heart still beats. ] I’m running on empty.

This is my moment. Down in my depths everything’s frozen. I wear the shell of my chrysalis,

soft as a secret, thin as a whisper. You want bright butterfly wings from me,

but inside there’s a crack I hide. I’m sinking, drifting without a heading,

no captain on deck, so I drift. Damn, it shatters the lines I follow.

I reach for a bookmark, lost my place. Where did I start, where did I go? How do I fill this

echoing hollow? A pitch-black abyss, drained of color, cold like a thorn that never dulls.

This trembling shell is my chrysalis, empty and fragile, yet still whole. ] ]
