Complicit in Unnecessary Surgery

I watched my attending override my correct diagnosis to please the patient's rich family.

The scans showed a benign cyst. Clear as day. But they demanded exploratory surgery

because Doctor Google said otherwise. He caved. Scheduled it for tomorrow.

I pulled him aside after rounds. Told him we're violating do no harm for money and reputation.
