In modern naval and battlefield defense two very different missile systems stand out.
On one side the US Navy’s Rolling Airframe Missile RAM: a lightweight fire-and-forget,
supersonic missile designed to take down incoming anti-ship missiles or air threats.
RAM weighs about 74 kg travels over Mach 2 and defends ships at up to roughly 10 km range.
Its Block-2 upgrades give extra agility and better intercept performance. On the other side,
Russia’s OSA-M (9K33 Osa / SA-8 Gecko) — a mobile ground-based air-defense system. It mounts launchers
+ radar on a single 6×6 amphibious vehicle able to engage low-altitude aircraft helicopters or drones at ranges
around 5–10 km, targeting altitudes from near-ground up to a few kilometers. So while US RAM
