Anxiety hit me hardest during finals week sophomore year. My hands wouldn't stop shaking.
That's when I learned the 4-7-8 breathing technique. Inhale for four counts,
hold for seven, exhale for eight. It sounds simple but it genuinely works.
I also started breaking assignments into tiny pieces instead of looking at everything at once.
When breathing exercises weren't enough anymore, I reached out to campus counseling. Getting help wasn't
giving up. It was the bravest thing I did that semester. You don't have to
white-knuckle through this alone.
