Man? Many Christians know the story of David, the young shepherd

who defeated Goliath and went on to become Israel's greatest king. But did you know

that David’s first wife, Michal, was taken from him and given to another

man? Here's the story: David’s first wife was Michal, the daughter of

King Saul. Their love was deep, and Michal even helped David escape when her father,

Saul, sought to kill him. Saul had promised Michal to David as a reward for

killing Goliath (1 Samuel 18:20–27). However, as David’s popularity grew,
