Deep Sea Giants: The Hunt

In the crushing pressures of the abyssal zone, a predator approaches its prize in

total darkness. A mature male sperm whale uses powerful echolocation clicks to track any

movement in the void. Suddenly, the beam reveals the legendary giant

squid, Architeuthis, emerging from the gloom to defend itself.

A violent struggle ensues as the cephalopod wraps its massive tentacles around the whale's scarred,

heavy head. Power and persistence prevail in this rarely seen display of raw deep-sea

survival and natural animal behavior.
