“Alright, quick breakdown of democracy in America during the early 1800s.
So basically, the U.S. started expanding democracy, but only for white
men. Andrew Jackson became super popular because he seemed like a regular,
tough guy — he grew up on the frontier, fought a duel, and became famous after a big battle
in 1815. During this time, more and more white men got the right to vote,
but rights for Black Americans went downhill fast because states passed racist laws. Politics wasn’t
just voting either — people went to rallies, read newspapers, gave speeches,
and argued about everything. One huge issue was the Missouri Crisis. The country had
