Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir stands as the largest district in the region,

covering 891 sq km, and was carved out from the erstwhile Udhampur district

in 1948. The Chenab River flows through the district over 200 km from Srinagar,

supporting timber transport from forests and power generation. Known for rich mineral deposits like lead,

mica, gypsum, manganese, marble, and graphite,

the district features a predominantly rural economy centered on agriculture and pastoral activities,
