Don’t Go Back to Bondage

What if turning back hurts more than never starting? In 2 Peter 2:20–22, Peter warns that

when someone escapes the corruption of the world through knowing Jesus and then gets caught

in it again, their final state becomes worse than where they began. He says it would

have been better to never know the truth than to know it and turn away. Then he gives a

powerful picture we can’t ignore — like a dog returning to its vomit or a washed pig running

back into the mud. This isn’t meant to shame you, it’s meant to wake you up.

Walking away doesn’t make you free, it makes you bound again. And if you’ve drifted,

if you’ve gone back, God is calling you right now, because He doesn’t leave you where
