Drowning in Quiet Heartbreak

I gave everything to someone who gave me nothing back. I was their breath, their world,

but to them I was just passing through. I never learned how to choose people who would stay.

I held onto thorns thinking one day they'd soften. They never did. Now I smile through

the pain and let the tears fall when no one's watching. The worst part is I still give more

even when it hurts because somewhere deep down I started believing pain is all I deserve.

I made promises I can't take back and keeping them feels like bleeding in slow motion.

I wish I could stop caring but my heart won't listen anymore. I keep wondering if anyone will ever
