Dying to Love You

I died a little bit more today. When the silence between us grew

louder than any argument ever could. It wasn't the grand heartbreak, just the quiet

kind that chips away at you slowly. Like waves eroding the edge of

a forgotten shore. Every glance you didn't return, every word you didn't say,

carved something out of me I didn't know I still had left.

And now, sitting here with the echo of what we used to be.

I realize that sometimes the worst kind of dying is the one you keep

waking up from. I died a lot to live a little with you.
