The ground you're standing on is a giant, broken puzzle that's constantly moving.
Earth's crust is split into massive plates that float on a hot, gooey layer.
As they drift, they crash, grind, and pull apart. When the pressure
from grinding plates suddenly snaps, that's an earthquake, releasing energy in powerful waves.
When plates separate or one dives under another, magma from deep inside bursts through
the surface as a volcano, sometimes flowing calmly, other times exploding.
So, earthquakes and volcanoes aren't random; they're just the Earth's
tectonic plates doing their slow, powerful dance.
