Effective Performance Development Reviews

This course will provide an overview of PDR, its benefits, and how the process

itself works. There is then information on the key skills needed for effective reviews,

including active listening, questioning, emotional intelligence, and feedback.

The retrospective part of the conversation is covered with tips around how to review contributions,

achievements, progress against goals, and the impact of development undertaken.

The next sections cover the forward-looking part of the conversation, including how to agree goals that

are SMART, strategically-aligned and reference Warwick’s Values and Behaviours; how to identify

and support your reviewees’ development needs; and how to have a conversation around their career
