This is egocentric bias. We naturally remember our own effort in detail…
and everyone else’s as background noise. You recall the stress, the time, the mental suffering.
Other people remember roughly the same about themselves. So everyone feels like they carried
the team. Statistically impossible. Emotionally inevitable. You’re not selfish. Your brain is just
very bad at giving other people credit. Perspective isn’t shared.
