Elisa Lam’s Unsolved Hotel Mystery

This is a true story. On February 19, 2013, in Los Angeles, guests at the Cecil

Hotel complained of dark, foul-tasting water. A maintenance worker checked the rooftop

tanks. Inside one of them was the body of Elisa Lam, who had been missing

for weeks. The dark twist came from elevator footage showing Elisa acting frightened,

as if someone unseen was nearby. The investigation found no evidence of another person.

How she accessed the locked roof remains unclear. Conclusion: Her death was ruled
