Emergency Flight: A Life Saved After 9/11

The only plane allowed in American airspace after 9/11 was carrying antivenin from San Diego to Miami.

A man had been bitten by a highly venomous snake and without the treatment he would die within

hours. The FAA grounded every single aircraft in the country but they made one exception

for this emergency medical flight. Two fighter jets escorted the plane across the entire

United States to make sure it reached its destination. The patient received the antivenin just
