In this video, six grammar rules from this semester are explained: commas, semicolons,
colons, subject verb agreement, verb tense, and active versus passive voice.
First, a comma rule. When a full date with month, day,
and year appears in the middle of a sentence, place a comma after the day and after
the year if the sentence continues. Example: “On March 14, 2025,
the class took a chemistry exam.” Next, a semicolon rule. Use semicolons to
separate items in a list when the items already contain commas. Example: “At the
meeting, the teacher spoke with Maria, the class president; Jordan,
