Eternal Priest-King: Jesus and Melchizedek

Melchizedek appears in the Bible like a divine mystery—no record of his birth, no mention of his

death, and no family line. Yet Abraham, the father of faith, honors him and receives

his blessing. He is the priest-king of Salem, the king of righteousness and peace.

But Hebrews 7 reveals something deeper: Melchizedek was a prophetic shadow, a picture pointing

toward someone greater—Jesus Christ. While human priests lived and died, Jesus holds an eternal

priesthood. He doesn’t just offer sacrifices; He became the sacrifice. He doesn’t just

bless from afar; He intercedes for us forever. Jesus is the true Melchizedek—the

eternal Priest-King who brings righteousness, peace, and salvation that never fades.
