FDA Upgrades Shredded Cheese Recall Risk

The FDA just upgraded a massive cheese recall to high risk after finding potential listeria contamination

in over 260,000 cases of shredded cheese. Great Lakes Cheese Company products

were sold under dozens of different brand names at Target, Walmart, and Aldi across

multiple states. Listeria can cause serious infections with symptoms like diarrhea and vomiting,

especially dangerous for pregnant women and older adults. This follows several other food recalls

this December including milk with cleaning solution and salad dressings with plastic fragments.

Check your fridge immediately and throw out any affected shredded cheese, even if you haven't
