Forging Heaven

In the beginning. No heavens, no skies. We built them up

from empty lies. No earth, no ground, no soil to tread.

We shaped the dust where angels fled. From our hands, from our breath,

we sparked the fire cheated death. On the beginning we created heaven.

From nothing we rose like reckless legends. On the beginning there was no

light. We forged the stars to burn the night.

Then our eyes turned blind as stone. Our bodies shed joy,

left alone. From groggy minds hope slipped. It fell into the chasm
