These Sri Lankan royal treasures were stolen, their story was forgotten,

and then completely rewritten. In the Rijksmuseum, a showcase displays stunning weapons

from the King of Kandy, supposedly all looted as war booty in 1765.

But the real story is way more complicated. Researchers discovered these objects didn't arrive as a set.

The famous ceremonial cannon was sent as a trophy. The massive wall guns were shipped

separately. The gold and silver sabres? Their path is a mystery,

but their royal quality is undeniable. For over a century, their true origin was lost,

with some even mislabeled as Malaysian.
