Four people just survived a total nightmare hanging off the edge of a dam wall near

Standerton. A boat carrying the group lost control and ended up teetering right on the brink

of the Grootdraai Dam wall, leaving the passengers clinging to the vessel to avoid

plunging over. It triggered a massive emergency response that lasted for hours as specialized

rescue teams scrambled to reach them. The situation was so critical that officials actually

had to coordinate opening the dam's sluice gates just to make the operation possible.
