Fox and the Alligator

Down by the bayou where the cypress knees bleed. I spot a

red fox creepin' through the reeds. Eyes like stolen fire,

tail draggin' low, she was huntin' trouble where the blackwater flows.

Across the muddy bank, old gator lay still. Armored like the

devil with a cold-blooded thrill. He grinned with them teeth, yellow as sin

said, "Come a little closer, pretty fox, let the game

begin." Oh, the fox and the alligator dancin' in the

moonlight glow. One wants to run, the other won't let go.
