Fractions of a Second

The lioness locked eyes with one zebra and that split second changed everything. Dust exploded as

she charged through the herd at thirty miles per hour. One zebra's hoof slipped on loose

dirt. For a moment, time froze. The lioness was inches away,

muscles coiled, ready to strike. But the zebra kicked hard, found traction,

and bolted. The lioness stood there, chest heaving, watching her meal

disappear into the African horizon. In the wild, survival comes down to fractions of

seconds. Today, the zebra won. Tomorrow, the hunt begins

again.
